FARMINGTON – A Chesterville man pleaded not guilty Monday to a robbery charge in connection with an attack on a college student the evening of Dec. 9, 2007.
Caleb M. Hupper, 18, has remained held on $10,000 cash bail at the Franklin County jail in Farmington since his arrest on Dec. 12.
Hupper is accused of attempting to take a wallet from a University of Maine at Farmington student from Massachusetts at the intersection of High and Lincoln streets on the college campus.
According to Farmington police, Hupper kicked and punched the teenager after demanding his wallet.
The college student was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and was treated for injuries, including a cut above his eye, before he was released, police previously said.
The felony robbery charge carries a penalty of up to 30 years in prison, Justice Michaela Murphy told Hupper during his arraignment.
