LEWISTON – Cheerleaders from Maine Event Cheer and Dance Center won six first-place finishes recently at the Eastern Cheer and Dance Extreme Championship in Boston.

Maine Event’s Senior Co-Ed Team also won Grand Champions in the Senior Co-Ed Level 5 Division and won a full-paid bid to attend the World’s Best-Final Destination competition to be held in Virginia Beach, Va., the first weekend of May.

Maine Event is home to two world’s best championship titles. In addition to the Senior co-ed team, the other five teams that competed at the eastern competition all won first place bids to the final destination.

In the next few months Maine Event will compete in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Jersey in national championships.

The Mini Team, which recently won first in Rhode Island, will perform its national winning routine Wednesday, Feb. 27, on the ice between the first and second period at the Lewiston Maineiacs hockey game.
