WINSLOW – Close but not quite for the Patriotic Knights.

Jeshua Dearborn scored a pair of goals – including an empty-netter with 12 seconds left – to lift Lawrence to a 3-1 win over Poland/Gray-New Gloucester in the teams’ Eastern Class A quarterfinal Thursday.

The Patriotic Knights (15-6) were in search of their first playoff win.

Patrick Collins tightened up a 2-0 game early in the third on an assist from Cory Cormier, and Sean Bilodeau made 26 saves in the losing effort.

Jack Hersom scored the other Lawrence goal. The No. 4 Bulldogs (13-7-1) travel to Lewiston on Saturday to face the No. 1 Blue Devils in the Eastern Class A semifinals.
