PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A heavy fire in the second story of a Providence home has left a man with burns covering 50 percent of his body.
Fire Chief James Taylor said the victim was unconscious when firefighters pulled him from the house on Ruggles St. after firefighters arrived at the scene Sunday at 5:21 p.m.
The 41-year-old man was rushed to the Rhode Island Hospital trauma unit for treatment.
Taylor said the cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
