What is up with the superior courts in Maine giving plea deals to those convicted of murder? Androscoggin County Superior Court on Feb. 15: the attorneys struck a deal for Sergio Hairston. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but 15 years suspended. Another example, Todd Gamache in the death of 8-month-old Emmy Leigh-Cole.
It’s now called manslaughter, not murder.
Maine has an open door for people to commit murder.
Those two people should get a sentence of life in prison. Thongsavanh didn’t get a plea deal. Instead he got a sentence of 58 years in prison.
The state superior courts should stop plea deals in murder trials. Bring back the death penalty.
If someone does the crime, they have to do the time… and the time would be life or death.
