Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care’s Family Development Center classroom, Auburn, recently celebrated winter by creating a classroom mascot, a snowman, with pom-pom eyes, a pine cone nose, a colored stick for a mouth and cardboard paper rolls for arms. With the help of frequent volunteer Jerry Hubbard of Bridgton, husband of Teacher Assistant Diane Hubbard, the children, head teacher Susie Allison and family service advocate Virginia Starbird “made” a new friend.
