Easter services
WILTON – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 59 High St., has announced its schedule for Holy Week.
Maundy Thursday, March 20, 7 p.m., Holy Communion with a foot-washing ceremony. Following the service special music will be played, the church will be darkened and the altar stripped as a way to evoke Jesus’ time in Gethsemane.
Good Friday, March 21, St. Luke’s will participate in ecumenical services in Farmington and Wilton. In Farmington, the service will be at Henderson Memorial Baptist at noon. In Wilton, it will be at the Methodist church at 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 22, Great Vigil of Easter, 8 p.m., celebration of the resurrection of Christ by lighting the paschal candle in the dark, reading the unfolding story of God’s saving acts in the Hebrew scriptures, renewing baptismal vows and celebrating the Eucharist.
Easter Sunday, March 23, 6:36 a.m., Easter sunrise ecumenical service at Voter Hill; 8 a.m., Holy Communion; 10 a.m., Festival Eucharist. Following the service there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children.
Extending season
FARMINGTON – Titcomb Mountain was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, March 16. It will now be opened for one more day, Saturday, March 22.
The mountain will offer a two-for-one special on lift tickets and Nordic trail passes on March 22.

Musical drama
FARMINGTON – “The Sacrifice,” an original musical drama arranged and directed by Eric Kobischen, will be performed by members of Farmington Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 22 and 23.
The last days of Jesus, including His time in the garden, betrayal, walk to Calvary, crucifixion and resurrection, will be depicted in songs and reenactments, based on the biblical events. All are welcome. Graphic scenes may be troubling for some.
VFW supper
JAY – The VFW Post 3335 public supper for 5 p.m. Friday, March 21, will be breaded chicken tenders. Price is $7 a person, including coffee and dessert. A jam session will follow at the post.
There will be “Let’s Break the Cabin Fever Curse” supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5. Menu will include steamship beef, smoked turkey and all the fixings, including dessert. The “Friday Night Players” will be on hand to provide entertainment. The price is $7 a person. Everyone is welcome.
On Saturday, April 12, the post will hold a spring dance featuring the music of Alibi from 8 p.m. to midnight. There will be $6 cover charge and free munchies all night. Everyone is welcome.

Book sale
WILTON – The Wilton Free Public Library book sale will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 21, 22 and 23, during the sportsman’s show at the Nichols Building, Weld Road. Books are sold by donation, and all proceeds benefit the Wilton Free Public Library.
Bread sale
FARMINGTON – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold an Easter bread sale from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Twice Told Tales, Main Street. They will offer hot cross buns and a selection of holiday breads and rolls.
Easter events
JAY – Bean’s Corner Baptist Church will celebrate the Easter season with services Friday and Sunday.
Good Friday, March 21, will be observed with a special multi-media, interactive service of reverence and worship at 7 p.m.
Easter Sunday observances on March 23 will begin at 8 a.m. with a half-hour SonRose service of music and spoken celebration, followed by a fellowship breakfast.
Sunday school at 9:10 will be a fun time of group activity.
The morning service at 10:30 will include narration, Scripture, congregational singing and the musical, ”Jesus Is Alive,” by the choir.
The public is welcome to all services, Pastor Ira A. Hall said.
Bean’s Corner is located at the intersection of Routes 133 and 156.
Easter service
LIVERMORE – Early Easter service will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, March 23, at the United Methodist Church followed by 8 a.m. Easter breakfast and 9 a.m. Easter service.
Beekeepers to meet
FARMINGTON – Western Maine Beekeepers Association will present a slide show and talk by State Apiarist Tony Jadczak on honey bee pests, diseases and current medications.
The presentation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Mt. Blue Middle School.
Beekeepers need to be aware of current treatment methods and medications to ensure the survival of their honey bees. All area beekeepers are invited to the free presentation.
Legion supper
LIVERMORE FALLS – A public baked bean and casserole supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the American Legion, 17 Reynolds Ave.
The post will deliver within a five-mile radius.
