AUBURN – Tranquil Lodge 29, AF and AM, will work a Master Mason Degree on Wednesday, March 19, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. There will be a supper at 6:30 p.m., followed by the working of the degree at 7:30. All Master Masons are welcome.

OES meeting

LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold its annual meeting at 17 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Lisbon Falls Masonic Hall, Route 196. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. All members of Pioneer Chapter are encouraged to attend.

Support speaker

LEWISTON – “Take Humor Seriously” will be the topic of a presentation set for the Thursday, March 20, meeting of the Central and Western Maine Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) Support Group.

The speaker will be Barbara Aliberti, RN. She will discuss mounting evidence that laughter contributes to wellness.

The support group is for individuals who have an ICD. Family members and other support persons are also welcome. The meeting provides a forum for discussion regarding experiences with ICD and will present learning opportunities not only about living with the devices, but about cardiac health issues.

Card party

LEWISTON – The Holy Family Ladies of St. Ann Sodality are planning a spring card party to be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the parish hall at 607 Sabattus St. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased by contacting any board members or by calling Yvette at 782-3722. There will be door prizes, raffles and 50/50. Refreshments will be served.

Legion speaker

LEWISTON – American Legion Post 22 will have as speaker for the 6 p.m. meeting on Thursday, March 20, Ellie Newell admissions coordinator, Maine Veterans Homes. A question-and-answer period will follow, and all veterans are ask to attend.

Joseph Paradis, service officer, said since it is also the birthday of the American Legion,and close to St. Patrick’s Day, Commander Donald Dube will have a special cake made to celebrate.

Paradis said that if time permit, he will assist veterans who may qualify for the new state Silver Star Honorable Service Medal. He asks them to bring separation papers.

Lunch will be serve by First Vice Commander Raymond Allen, assisted by his wife, Louise Allen, Auxiliary member, and Sally Dumont. For more information, call 786-0488.
