Dave Duguay, Oxford County commissioner, District II, spoke recently to the Rumford Area Rotary Club about county government. He told Rotarians there are 111 full- and part-time employees and nine county facilities providing services to more than 56,000 people in the county’s 36 organized townships and 19 unorganized townships. The mil rate assessment for 2008 is 6.4 percent compared to 7.75 percent in 2004, Duguay said. The county has added a regular evening meeting each month that rotates among Rumford, Paris and Fryeburg to encourage more participation in county government. For more information, contact Duguay at 357-9923.
