LISBON – WMTW Channel 8 TV meteorologist Gray Stabley visited with third grade students at Lisbon Community School on March 6.

Monica Millhime, community resource coordinator for the Lisbon School Department, introduced Stabley to students and their teachers Anne Clayton, Chris Cormier, Sue Hardison, Heather Goddu and substituting for Deb Furrow, guest teacher Diane Cota.

Stabley was invited for the third year to assist students with their weather unit studies. “Weather conditions change very rapidly. As meteorologists, our job is to watch a number of models to predict weather conditions and report the conditions in an accurate manner,” said Stabley.

Students had an opportunity to ask questions on weather forecasting and what goes on behind the scenes at a TV station.

In appreciation of her return visit, students presented her with a bouquet of spring flowers, photos of her visit with students and a limited edition of the humane society cookbook.
