YORK – The wedding of Meghan Tara Simard and Joshua Thomas Chamberlain was held at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 6 at First Parish Congregational Church in York. Pastor Ron Tannerello of Amherst, N.H., officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Chamberlain is the daughter of Thomas Simard of Lewiston and Joan S. Simard of Auburn. Mr. Chamberlain is the son of Thomas and Clarene Chamberlain of Merrimack, N.H.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless contemporary ivory Italian matte satin gown with three bands of ivory defining the modified empire waist and full skirt. Delicate silver embroidery and flowers accented the bodice and waist as well as the hemline of the gown. The floral pattern, embroidery and continuation of bands accented the cathedral train for an elegant simplicity of design. She carried a bouquet of white Calla lilies.
Erin Kolbe of Phoenix, Ariz., college friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kim Brown of Flagstaff, Ariz., former college roommate of the bride, Emily Bain of South Portland, friend of the bride since kindergarten, and Kyla Chapman Simard of Auburn, sister-in-law of the bride. Autumn Chapman, niece of the bride, and Alexis Chamberlain, niece of the bridegroom, were flower girls. Brenda Pearson of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., college friend of the bride, was site coordinator.
Twin brothers of the bridegroom, Mark Chamberlain of Beverly Farms, Mass., and Michael Chamberlain of Whittier, Calif., shared duties as best men. Groomsmen were Jeremy Meschino of Merrimack, N.H., and Matthew Simard of Auburn, brother of the bride. Xavier Chamberlain, nephew of the bridegroom, served as ring bearer.
A reception followed at York Harbor Inn in York, after which the couple traveled to Grand Cayman Island. They currently reside in Amherst, N.H.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and a 2004 graduate of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz., with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She is a dental hygienist at the Center for Restorative Dentistry in Kittery and Amerident Dental in Amherst, N.H.
The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Merrimack High School in Merrimack, N.H., and is a 2003 graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H., with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in marketing and a minor in international affairs. He is self-employed as a purveyor of antiques and fine art.
