RUMFORD – Girl Scouts of Maine will hold a “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, in the Rumford-Mexico area.
Those attending should bring a picnic supper, the troop or family and join the Girl Scout community for an evening of kite flying. Participants will build their own kite and fly it.
All the supplies will be available. Cost is $4 a person. Preregistration should be made by May 1.
The event is open to all currently registered Girl Scouts and any girls who are willing to register to become a member of Girl Scouts and their families.
The registration fee to become a member of Girl Scouts is $10, payable by check. Financial assistance is available.

The Scouts will hold a Girl Scout Ice Cream Social for all girls in grades kindergarten through 12 at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, in the Mexico area. Girls must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration deadline is April 25. Call Tara at 364-2246 or Jeanie at 364-3639. There is no cost; however to participate, girls must be a member of Girl Scouts.
Girl Scouts of Maine serves more than 14,000 girls ages 5 to 17 statewide. Girl Scouts of Maine also has many volunteer options for adults.
