NORTHWOOD, N.H. (AP) – Classes were canceled at Coe-Brown Academy in Northwood after an outbreak of a respiratory illness.

School officials said about 200 students and staff were out sick Friday. State health officials said beginning this week about 30 to 40 students a day were reporting the sickness.

Officials said the illness seems to run its course in a matter of days. There have been no reports of any students falling seriously ill.

Health officials are advising parents to keep children home if they have any of the following symptoms: Cough, headache, sore throat, chest congestion, and fever.
