LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will offer a American Red Cross lifeguarding course during April school vacation.
The course teaches participants the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries.
Participants must be age 15 on or before the final scheduled class. All participants must pass a prerequisite skills test at the beginning of the course.
The price is $200 for YWCA members and $225 for non-members. The class will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 19, 20, 25 and 26. Participants must pay in full at the time of registering.
