KITTERY (AP) – Thirty to 40 developers, real estate companies, construction firms and businesses are getting a firsthand look at the former Portsmouth Naval Shipyard prison.
The Navy is providing an opportunity to see the 100-year-old prison after an industry forum Wednesday at the New England Center conference center in Durham, N.H. The Navy has decided to move forward with leasing the former prison, but interested parties have to be willing to live with security requirements of being on a base that repairs nuclear submarines.
