Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service earned the National Earth Team Chief’s Field Award for 2007 for logging the most volunteer hours in the country. Over the past five years, Franklin County Earth Team volunteers have provided more than 7,700 hours of assistance to Natural Resources Conservation Service and its customers in Franklin County. And in 2007, 29 volunteers worked 1,700 hours.
