NEW GLOUCESTER – The duo Two Old Friends, made up of Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, affectionately known as Mac and Hutch, will sing and play songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea Saturday, May 3, at the New Gloucester Village Coffee House.

McHale and Hutchins were the original founders of the Irish band The Northeast Winds. They traveled and recorded with the Winds for nearly 18 years.

For the past 17 years, McHale has headed up the Old-Time Radio Gang, a popular traditional country music band, and Hutchins has been an important part of the Angel Band, a world-famous Irish music group.

Together, they will perform their favorite music from the Northeast Winds as well as some old-time traditional country music. The program is sure to include Irish and sea songs, a good amount of picking instrumentals and singalongs.

McHale and Hutchins will play banjo, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodran and the octave mandolin.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and seniors. The New Gloucester Village Coffee House is at the First Congregational Church. For more information, call Julie or Michael Fralich at 926-3161 or the church office at 926-3260.
