FRYEBURG – Junior pitcher Hannah Hill recorded her 500th strikeout as Fryeburg edged past Lake Region to post a 2-0 win Monday afternoon.
Hill gave up just one hit and fanned 15 batters en route to her milestone. Heather Tripp hit two singles, and had both RBIs bringing in Brylie Walker and Hill for undefeated Fryeburg (7-0). Cerise Humphrey and Ellen Head each hit doubles in the win.
Gray-NG 2, Falmouth 0
GRAY – Laura Getchell had a solid performance on the mound, tossing a one-hitter and fanning 11 batters en route to a 2-0 Gray-New Gloucester win over Falmouth Monday.
Abby Ryan smacked an RBI double in the fourth inning followed by a sacrifice bunt by Getchell for the insurance run for the Patriots (2-2). Tylar Damon and Alicia Valenti each hit doubles as well.
Telstar 5, Hall-Dale 1
BETHEL – Winning pitcher Kayla Merrill struck seven batters and walked two, and teammate P.J. Cowin had an RBI double and also rapped a triple, as Telstar sidestepped Hall-Dale, 5-1, in softball action Monday.
The undefeated Rebels (3-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning. Julie Stambolis also had two hits. The Bulldogs (3-1) scored one run in the fourth inning.
St. Dom’s 13, Traip 1
KITTERY – Danielle Guerin smacked three singles and racked up three RBIs as St. Dom’s defeated Traip 13-1 in a local softball matchup Monday.
Lindsay Nance and Mary Lewis each hit two singles a piece for the Saints (4-0). Nance and Kelsey Murphy split duties on the mound, combining for eight Ks.
Poland 12, Yarmouth 3
YARMOUTH – Alicia Dube and Courtney Gray recorded a pair of singles each as Poland grabbed a 12-3 win over Yarmouth in softball action Monday.
Tori Hricko earned the mound win for the Knights (2-4). Danielle Fogg contributed a double in the win.
Lacrosse
Hebron 16, Gould 10
HEBRON – KJ Forand compiled six goals as Hebron cruised to a 16-10 victory over Gould in girls’ lacrosse action Monday. The Lumberjacks took a commanding 11-3 lead into halftime. Sarah Markey had three goals and an assist, while Shelly Bolduc also netted three goals.
Barrett Allen scored five goals for the Huskies.
