Bruce M. Whittier Middle School eighth-grader Kirby Plummer, right, pokes fun at Dean of Students Shawn Vincent after a rally Tuesday morning in the school gym in Poland. As part of the school’s literacy goal, Vincent challenged students to read 1,000 books. The students easily completed the challenge and after reading the most books, Jacob MacDonald picked the style Vincent is now sporting. MacDonald read 42 books.
