AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 met April 21 at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane, to honor its past noble grands and veteran members.
A Rebekah reaching 40 years of continued membership is classified a veteran member. Those present to be honored were Lucy Cowles, with 73 years; Arlene Simons, 62 years; Virginia Hooper, 61 years; Esther Tucker, 58 years; and Frances Robitaille, 48 years.
Hooper traveled from Suffield, Conn., to attend the meeting.
Past noble grands present were also honored. They were Mercena Abrams, Priscilla Campbell, Lucy Cowles, Eleanor Helwig, Virginia Hooper, Cathy Hunnewell, Lucille Nelson, Frances Robitaille, Arlene Simons, Margaret Sjostrom, Glendon Spiller and Esther Tucker. Noble Grand, Diane Treacy presented all with gifts.
During the business meeting the lodge observed the 189th anniversary of Odd Fellowship and members told of their participation in the Living Legacy Program that has the motto, “Plant a Tree for One Who Comes After Me.”
The next meeting will be Monday, May 5, when Friendship Night and Brothers Night will be observed. All Rebekahs and Odd Fellows are invited to attend the buffet luncheon at 6 p.m. at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home. A regular meeting will follow at 7. Special entertainment will be provided.
