Dear Sun Spots: I understand that there is a 100-room, four-story hotel that will be going up in the vacant Androscoggin Plaza lot on the corner of Mount Auburn and Turner Street in Auburn. I believe it is the Marriott Corp. with Ocean Properties as the developer. I would like names and phone numbers that I could contact for information regarding employment. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
According to a Feb. 19 article by Sun Journal business reporter Carol Coultas, a deal was signed by Portsmouth-based developers Ocean Properties, Marriott Corp. and local developer George Schott. A four-story, 100-room Residence Inn – a mid-level Marriott franchise designed for extended stays – is planned for Mount Auburn Avenue and Turner Street intersection where the vacant Androscoggin Plaza sits.

According to a spokesperson with Marriott Corp., at this time they do not have a central phone number that lists nationwide career opportunities. However, if you would like to speak directly with an associate regarding a career opportunity, they suggest contacting the specific hotel in which you are interested. A directory of Marriott hotels and resorts is available online at http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search.mi and will lead you to specific hotel phone and fax numbers. They do not have any information for the Auburn location, so you may have to check in again as the hotel is being built. Schott noted in the article that they are hoping for a 2008 opening.

If you have further questions, they provided the following phone number to reach an Internet Customer Care Associate: 1-800-721-7033. They are available to help you 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Dear Sun Spots: I really need your help. I am looking for a lady that lived with us a long time ago. She only lived with us for a very short time. But when she left she gave us something of hers to hold for her until she came back. That was like 35 years ago. She was a teenager back then so she must be between 49 and 54 now. Her name back then was Tyler Thurlow and she came from Casco. It is very important for me to find her and return her item. So please if anyone can help me my number is 576-7628 and my name is Julie. I really need to find her. Thank you. – Julie, Sabattus.
