FARMINGTON – Anniversary Sunday will be celebrated June 1 at the Farmington Falls Union Baptist Church when the Rev. John Tolman will celebrate his 50th anniversary of performing marriages by renewing the vows of David Earl Strickland and Dawn Davis of Embden.
The wedding on May 29, 1958, was the first couple Tolman married while serving at the church in Farmington Falls.
“It’s not every day that couples are able to return to the place of their wedding and reaffirm their vows to each other with the original clergy officiator,” Tolman said.
All are welcome to attend the 9 a.m. service; couples from the church and those whom Tolman has married in other churches are invited to stand and reaffirm their vows.
