PORTLAND (AP) – U.S. Attorney Paula Silsby said Thursday the government has entered a settlement with Rumford Group Homes Inc. in a Medicaid billing case. As part of the settlement, RGH paid $167,463 to address state and federal claims.
Silsby said the case involved the improper submission of certain costs for reimbursement by the Medicaid program, which is known as MaineCare in the state, in 2000 and 2001.
The settlement ends an investigation that was conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s office and Maine’s Healthcare Crimes Unit, Audit Department and Department of Health and Human Services.
