AUBURN – AARP will host a forum on financial security from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Kirk Hall, Central Maine Community College, 1250 Turner St.
The forum will share information on the current troubles facing America’s health care system and the difficulties people are facing in achieving life-time financial security.
Taking part will be Congressman Mike Michaud; State Rep. Gary Knight, on the Taxation Committee; Lesley Linfield, Institute for Financial Literacy; Tim Belcher, executive director, MESA/SEE; and Robert Romasco, AARP board member.
Following the forum, AARP will conduct a community conversation involving attendees to discuss why health and financial security issues are so urgent. It will provide an opportunity for participants to speak out and engage with AARP.
AARP is hosting the forum as part of “Divided We Fail.” AARP has launched the program to raise the voices of millions of Americans who believe that health care and life-time financial security are the most pressing domestic issues facing the nation.
A program will be held from 10 a.m. to noon followed by an hour for lunch. A community conversation will follow from 1 to 2 p.m. For more information, call Phyllis Cohn at 791-3903.
