JAY – Charles and Anita Heckbert of Jay recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a gathering at the AMVETS Hall in Jay. The children of the couple were hosts for the event.

The hall was decorated in white and gold and the head table had a centerpiece of white carnations and red roses. An anniversary cake with white frosting and accented with yellow flowers, was served.

Mr. Heckbert and the former Anita Roderique were married May 10, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston. Their children are Sandra Swett and her husband, Lonney; Leon and his wife, Tina; Charles Jr.; and Tina and her boyfriend, Jerry. The grandchildren are Jenny, Angela, Amy, Kim, Crystal, Amanda and Heather. Great-grandchild is Isaish.

Guests attended from Canada, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
