SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Rookie Tino Nunez scored his first MLS goal and Real Salt Lake remained unbeaten at home with a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution on Saturday night.

Nunez, who entered the game in the 41st minute after Robbie Findley was injured, scored the winning goal in the 60th minute for RSL (5-5-4). Javier Morales’ shot deflected off a Revolution defender right into the path of Nunez, who one-touched the ball past goalkeeper Matt Reis.

The Revolution (8-4-3) had a seven-game unbeaten streak snapped. RSL is 4-0-4 at home this season and is unbeaten in five games.

New England scored first in the 8th minute when goalkeeper Matt Reis punted the ball the length of the field. Adam Cristman headed in a shot as RSL defender Nat Borchers and goalkeeper Nick Rimando let the ball bounce between them near the top of the penalty box.

Cristman’s goal ended RSL’s franchise-record 283-minute shutout span for RSL.

RSL tied it three minutes later when Morales sent a free kick into the box and New England defender Jay Heaps inadvertently deflected the ball into his team’s goal.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Kevin Goldthwaite scored an early goal for the undermanned New York Red Bulls, who held on for a 1-0 win and spoiled the debut of FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman on Saturday night.

Goldthwaite’s goal came on a header in the 16th minute. It was the second of the season for Goldthwaite, who was forced to leave the game eight minutes later due to hamstring strains in both legs.

Wizards 0, Toronto FC 0

TORONTO – Toronto FC’s three-game home winning streak was snapped by struggling Kansas City, which is winless in seven games.

It was the third time this season that Toronto (6-4-3) had been held scoreless. Toronto is 5-0-3 at home.

The Wizards (3-5-4) are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings and haven’t scored in three games this month.
