I’m writing because of my disgust with the state, Worker’s Compensation and Social Security.

I know of a young man who was always a very hard worker from the time he was 16. A couple of years ago, he had an accident where his shoulder and back were crushed under a house trailer. He can no longer work and can’t even sit in one place for more than 15 minutes.

Worker’s Comp is accusing him of faking, and Social Security won’t give him disability. He will have to go to court and spend money he doesn’t have to get help.

If he were from out of state and came to Maine, he could probably get all the help he needs. That seems to be how things are happening lately.

It’s a crying shame that this state can’t take care of its own.

Wake up, Maine legislators.
