LOS ANGELES (AP) – Philanthropist Katherine Bogdanovich Loker has died in Southern California at 92.
John Taylor of the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace Foundation says Loker died Thursday in Oceanside after suffering a stroke at her nearby home on Saturday.
Loker was a major donor to the Nixon Library, Harvard and the University of Southern California, where she was a track athlete in the 1930s.
Loker was the daughter of a fishing boat captain who founded a cannery that became Star-Kist Foods.
The Loker Reading Room at Harvard’s Widener Library is named in her honor.
