WEST FAIRLEE, Vt. (AP) – Vermont police say the death of a man who fell down a mine shaft was accidental.
Seventy-year-old David Ricker, of Vershire, hiked up to West Fairlee Copper Mines with a friend Wednesday. Police say he slipped on some rocks and fell about 60 feet down a mine shaft.
Ricker died of a skull fracture. Investigators say no foul play was involved.
