NORWAY – Nate Towne will be the guest host for Norway Open Mic Friday, July 25, at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St. A western Maine-based singer/songwriter, Towne has performed all over New England and has shared the stage with such acts as folk legend John Gorka. His debut CD, “Short Circuit,” was released in the late spring of 2006. Its 12 original songs reflect Towne’s multi-instrumental talents and rock ‘n’ roll upbringing, running the gamut from CCR swamp to Neil Young stomp to more introspective ballads.

The Norway Open Mic was founded by Vessel Recordings artist Heather Pierson and is held on the last Friday of every month.

Sign-up for performers is at 6:30 p.m., with the open mic beginning at 7 o’clock. Admission is a $3 donation at the door. Refreshments will be available.
