BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital and the Bridgton Hospital Special Delivery Family Birthing Center, along with Safe Kids Maine and the Bureau of Highway Safety, are sponsoring a child car safety seat check-up from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, on the campus of the hospital.
The checkup is designed to provide parents and caregivers with the opportunity to learn and practice how to safely install a car seat. Education and installation typically takes 30 minutes a car, a seat.
In Maine, the child car safety seat misuse rate is 98 percent, meaning 9 out of 10 car seats are installed incorrectly.
