Dear Sun Spots: I recently purchased a clothesline system and some wimpy spring clothespins. Love the line, hate the spring pins. My mom had hardwood clothes pegs, which lasted for years. I’ve had no luck finding hardwood pegs. Their time, once again, has come. Perhaps you can help? (I have no computer.) Thanks. – Diana, Rumford.

Answer: After much searching, we found the item you are looking for on Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores’ Web site. Although they are advertised for craft use, they are 3¾ inches long and look heavy duty enough for your clothesline. The item is not available in the smaller stores in Waterville, Auburn and Topsham, but they are sold at the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft larger Superstore in Bangor. You can also order from the Web site through the Customer Care Department. Contact customer care Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1-888-739-4120. The product is called “flat clothespin” and they come 40 per package for $2.99 (not including shipping costs). They also sell “baby flat clothespins” which are 2½ inches, and sell for $2.99 for a package of 50. We hope this works out for you.

Dear Sun Spots: This is to inform the person looking for an 8mm movie projector (Sun Spots inquiry, Saturday, July 12), that I have one for $25. It is in my warehouse that opens every Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Auburn Novelty Building on Turner and Pleasant Street. Thank you Sun Spots for the vast wealth of information you provide. – Dan Poulin, Orphan Annie’s, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: While conducting business in the Auburn area, I came across the request for an 8mm movie projector in your column. Is there a way I can get in touch with this person, as I am cleaning my parents home and have one in good condition which I would consider selling, as is.

This request was in July 12, 2008. If I could get a phone number, I could call them the next time I am in town. Or they could call me on my cell phone at 207-332-4180. – Nancy, Kittery.

Answer:
Unfortunately, the reader did not provide a phone number. We are sure they are checking the column for responses and hope they will contact you for more information.

Dear Sun Spots: Are there any camera shops that can repair digital cameras in the state? I have a Kodak digital camera that is less than 2 years old and I need someone to evaluate my issue. I have contacted Kodak but there prices are unreasonable. Thanks. – Fred, Rumford.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, consider bringing your camera to Best Buy. They can send your camera to a licensed repair person who will diagnose the problem and, if it can be repaired, service your camera as well. The closest store to Rumford is located at 649 Turner St. in Auburn. Contact customer service at 795-8810 or stop in Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dear Sun Spots: Enjoy your column every day. Miss it when I’m away. I have “The Eagles,” the Wilton Academy Yearbooks, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1948, 1951 and 1952. Maybe some alumni would like these. I also wonder if anyone knows of anyone that buys cut glass dishes. – R.W., Norway.

Dear Sun Spots: To the person that wanted Beanie Babies, I have 45 I will sell reasonable. The person can call 783-1188. I also have two Cabbage Patch I would like to sell. – No Name, No Town.
