MADRID – John Warren Wing, 42, of Madrid, went to be with his lord Saturday, Aug. 2, at his home.

He was born Oct. 12, 1965, in Sumter, S.C. He was educated in Dixfield schools. John worked for many restaurants around the state and the country.

He enjoyed gardening, cooking, was an avid reader and rock hound. One of the more humorous characteristics about John was his obsession with daytime soap operas. He was also an active member of the Bible to You Baptist Bible Study.

John is survived by his mother, Sue Marie Cube of Louisiana; his father, Terry and stepmother, Jane Wing, of Madrid; three sisters, Michelle Burgess and her husband, Frank, of Mexico, Diane Rose and her husband, Robert, of New Sharon, and Sue Cochran of Phillips; two brothers, William Cochran of Madrid, and Andy Cochran of Strong; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; a great-nephew, Mason; and his best friends, Bill Sylvester and Colleen of Phillips, and Scott and Cheryl Coolong of Strong.

He was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, and his step-grandmother, Clarrisa Wilson.
