RUMFORD – Parents or guardians with children who will be age 5 on or before Oct. 15 are asked to call their neighborhood school to preregister their child for kindergarten by Monday, Aug. 18, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Formal registration and screening will take place at Pennacook Learning Center, the former Virginal School, on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Parents should allow a half hour for the appointment.

Parents need to bring an original birth certificate (from the town where the child was born, not the hospital), immunization information and the child’s social security card to the registration session.
