DIXFIELD – The fifth annual Festival of Flowers flower show will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Dixfield Historical Society Charter Meeting Room, 63 Main St.
The show will be held in conjunction with the annual Dixfield Outdoor Market activities. All western Maine River Valley flower lovers are invited to bring their flowers to the Dixfield Historical Society building at 63 Main St. side entrance between noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, to place on exhibit.
There is no entry fee to exhibitors and free admission to all on Sunday. Ribbons will be awarded to the top four exhibits in each class, also a Best of Show and People’s Choice Awards.
Classes include bouquet of wild flowers in a crock or pitcher; bouquet of cut garden flowers in a crock or pitcher; house plant; flowers in a mug or teacup; children 12 years and under a bouquet in or with a toy or piece of sports equipment; miniature bouquet less than four-inch high (use a tiny vase); single flower in a bottle or bud vase.
Judging will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, at which time the doors will be closed. Entries must be picked up between 3 and 4 p.m. Sunday.
