OES visitation

WALES – Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 322 Centre Road for official visitation. Phyllis M. Blakely, associate grand matron of the Grand Chapter of Maine, will be the official visitation officer.

Officers will be in white gowns or tuxedoes or black suits. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Used book sale

AUBURN – The Friends of the Auburn Public Library will hold a used paperback book sale of fiction titles from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the library. Choose from more than 3,000 mass market and trade paperbacks novels.

LEWISTON – The MS Support Group and Caregivers will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. Jeremy Dular, a representative from Walk-Away, will speak at 6:30 on an electronic aid to walking for people with footdrop. Church yard sale

LISBON FALLS – Members of Lisbon Falls Baptist Church will sponsor a yard sale Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to benefit a fund to help area families in need.

The sale will occur in the yard of Ken and Karen Hodgkins at 201 Lisbon St. and will include donated items from community members.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 5 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Ron and Connie Reynolds; second, Woody Mercier and Richard Balian; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, Nancy Farmer and Helen Little; fifth, Martine Begert and Fred Letourneau.

Flight B winners were: first, Ron and Connie Reynolds; second, Nancy Farmer and Helen Little. Another game will be played on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at the center.

The club also met on Aug. 6 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Mike and Pat Quinn; second, John Hackett and Les Buzzell; third, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; fourth, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; fifth, Anna Vitiello and Lucille Theriault.
