OFCU was founded in 1938 and started on the loading docks of Oxford Paper Company. Our prices have remained very competitive throughout the 70 years OFCU has operated. Many of our services are fee free to our members. Throughout the years, we have really helped make a positive difference in the financial lives of our members, with great rates, low fees, and friendly personal service. Our commitment to providing excellent customer service is still the cornerstone of our business and respect is certainly a core value at OFCU. We take pride in providing products and services that are in the best interest of our members to meet their financial goals – not just selling a product to make the sale…we care very much about our members. There is a quote out there that says, “An organization can never be something the people are not.” This probably sums it up best for Oxford Federal Credit Union – you can’t fake 70 years of excellent member service to our community.

These days, more and more financial institutions are choosing to no longer offer student loans to their customers. That’s not the case here at OFCU however! As a financial institution helping members in our community for over 70 years, we still offer student loans for higher education through the Maine Advantage Loan Program.
