LIVERMORE FALLS – The cause of a fire that destroyed a storage shed and its contents at 16 School St. Wednesday morning was most likely electrical, fire Chief Marvin Parker said.
State fire investigator Chris Stanford visited the scene to try to determine the cause, he said.
The shed was owned by Marty and Junita Spaay. It was insured, Parker said.
About 16 firefighters from Livermore Falls responded to a report of a structure fire about 6 a.m. Jay and Livermore firefighters were automatically called out per mutual-aid agreement but canceled en route, he said.
“(Firefighters) did an excellent job of knocking the fire down quickly,” Parker said.
Parker estimated the shed was about 10- by 12-feet.
The fire started in the front of the shed while owners were sleeping, he said.
A neighbor called it in.
There was electricity to the building, he added.
