STORRS, Conn. (AP) – The University of Connecticut has chosen a sports architecture firm to design a planned practice facility for its basketball teams.
UConn says HOK Sport Inc. of Kansas city also will develop the plans to relocate the school’s soccer stadium.
HOK Sport played a major role in designing the school’s $50 million football training complex.
The school hoping to build something similar for basketball, with practice courts, academic support, sports medicine, strength and conditioning area, video services and coaches offices.
The school says it has so far received about $5 million in donations for the project.
