Class luncheon

RUMFORD – Men and women of the class of 1952 of Stephens High School will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Brian’s Bistro on Hartford Street. All class members and guests are welcome. Members are asked to note the change of day.

Lodge meeting

CANTON – Whitney Lodge 167, AF and AM, will hold a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4. The meeting will be preceded by a casserole supper at 6:30. All Master Masons are welcome. Whitney Lodge has the Traveling Gavel.

School reunion

WELD – There will be an informal reunion of the 1966 Peru Grammar School class on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Cindi (Freeman) Proctor’s home at 158 School St. For information, contact Marjorie and Bill Hanson at 562-7445.

Bowlers to meet

RUMFORD – The Lucky Rollers Bowling Team will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Oxford Lanes. Those not able to attend that night should call the bowling alley at 364-7800 or Nina Rollins at 364-7394. New bowlers are needed.

Bake sale

MEXICO – A bake sale will be held Friday, Sept. 5, at the Mexico Wal-Mart to benefit the Children’s Cancer Walk, which will take place Saturday, Sept. 27.

There will be fudge, muffins, brownies, cookies and whoopie pies. For more information, call Sandee Welch at 364-2548.

Rally Day

MEXICO – The Mexico Congregational United Church of Christ, 163 Main St., will observe Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 7, when students are registered for Sunday school.

Classes will be offered for children age 4 through high school. Parents are asked to attend the 10 a.m. worship with their children.

The guest minister will be the Rev. Bricker Gibson, and Holy Communion will be observed. Following the worship service, the church family will have a picnic lunch. Finger rolls will be provided; families may bring chips and soft drinks.

Adult Bible study will be held at the church at 11 a.m. beginning Tuesday, Sept. 16. The “Upper Room” will be the resource used by the study group. Copies of the publication are available at the church.

Bridge winners

RUMFORD – The Rumford Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug, 25 when the winners were: first, Jean and Bill Hersey; second, Alan Bradford and Bob Soucy; third, Anna Cormier and Woody Mercier.
