I am writing this letter to express my support of Sen. Susan Collins. She has fought hard to keep jobs in Maine. Because of her efforts in the area of national defense, the U.S. Senate recently approved $2.8 billion to continue building the DDG-1000 Zumwalt Class destroyer – a boon to Maine and the employees at Bath Iron Works. This is good news for Maine workers and good news for our national security.

When I assumed command of my unit in Maine, Sen. Collins cared enough to ask me “How can I help you?” I will not forget that personal interest.

I am proud to have her as my senator. She holds core American values.

It would be a huge mistake not to send her back to Washington this November.

I will vote for Sen. Susan Collins, and I encourage others to do so.
