September home-school programs at Paris library
PARIS – The Paris Public Library is hosting geography programs for homes-schoolers, grades four and up, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month during the school year.
In September, the focus will be on Scandinavian countries. Participants will look at Iceland on Sept. 9 and Denmark on Sept. 23.
Folktales, fairytales and other stories will be used to explore the culture of the featured nation. The programs, from 11 a.m. to noon, will start with basic geographical and cultural information, then participants will share a story, connecting with the country’s culture.
Activities will include coloring the country on continent and world maps, coloring the country’s national flag and having a “taste” of the culture’s food.
