DIXFIELD – Tyler Gates scored with 1.6 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give Dirigo a 3-3 tie with Livermore Falls in the MVC boys’ soccer season opener Friday.
After a scoreless first overtime, Kyle Whittemore pounced on a loose ball and gave the Andies the lead with 25 seconds to play. Gates, though, converted a cross from Josh Turbide that beat the buzzer.
Whittemore scored twice and Jake Ouellette also scored for the Andies. Gates finished with two goals and Cody St. Germain had one for Dirigo.
Goalies Willie Brown and Caleb Turner both had 11 saves.
Telstar 4, Winthrop 0
BETHEL – Frankie Delduca fired in a pair of goals and earned an assist as the Telstar Rebels repelled Winthrop with a 4-0 victory in a Class C boys’ soccer opener Friday.
Bryce Walker and Ethan Morin scored the other two goals. Morin also had an assist.
Telstar’s offense dominated the game, outshooting Winthrop 19-1. Rebel goalie Dan Vaughn had a light afternoon in net, making one save.
Edward Little 1, Morse 0
AUBURN – J.J. Jackson headed in the only goal of the game and a solid defensive effort helped the lead stand up as Edward Little held off Morse 1-0 in a KVAC boys’ soccer match Friday.
Moments after missing an open net, Jackson headed in a crossed ball with 35:26 remaining in the first half. The Red Eddies allowed just nine shots in the match with keeper Josh Mains collecting six saves.
Lincoln Weiss made 10 stops for the Shipbuilders.
St. Dom’s 4, Lake Region 0
NAPLES – Casey Parker collected two goals and an assist to lead St. Dom’s to a 4-0 triumph over Lake Region in boys’ soccer action Friday.
Parker jump-started the Saints (1-0) with a goal just 1:58 into the contest. Jack Erickson added a goal and two assists for St. Dom’s.
Nick Brigham and Aaron Allen shared goaltending duties for the Saints with three saves apiece, while Matt Langadas turned back four shots for Lake Region.
Mt. Blue 7, Skowhegan 0
SKOWHEGAN – Ben Russell notched a hat trick as Mt. Blue rolled to a 7-0 blanking over Skowhegan in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.
The Cougars led 2-0 at the half and kicked it into high gear with five goals in the second stanza. Sam Mungin contributed a pair of goals and assists for the Mt. Blue.
Jamie Sawyer provided good defensive support for the Cougars in the win.
Devin Zamboni had three saves in goal for the Mt. Blue, while Robert Adams stopped 14 shots on net for the Indians (0-1).
Lisbon 9, Carrabec 0
NORTH ANSON – Tyler Dupal and Morgan Reeves each scored twice as Lisbon coasted to a 9-0 victory over Carrabec in an MVC boys’ soccer match Friday.
The Greyhounds led 5-0 at the break and outshot the Cobras 38-4. Mike Beaulieu added a goal and two assists, while Marcus Bubar and George Clement chipped in with a goal and an assist each. Erik Metzger and Kyle Houston completed the scoring.
Derrick Lychette earned the win in goal with three saves, while James Brown stopped 10 shots for the home squad.
Oak Hill 9, Belfast 1
WALES – Isiah Mills netted a hat trick while Zach Lennett and Cody Fortier contributed two goals apiece as Oak Hill cruised to a 9-1 boys’ KVAC soccer victory over Belfast on Friday.
The Raiders led 4-0 at the half and outshot the Lions 32-14. Brothers Adam and Brian Soucy each assisted on three scores, with the former scoring a goal of his own. Ben Daggett also scored. Scott Kulikowsky broke up the shutout bid after converting a Jack Davis pass in the final two minutes of the match.
Mike Rostrom and Glen Allen combined to stop nine shots for Oak Hill. Eric Gaulin made 18 saves for the Lions.
Mt. Ararat 1, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON – Christian Swaholm’s goal with just over 15 minutes remaining in the second half gave Mt. Ararat a 1-0 KVAC boys’ soccer triumph over Lewiston on Friday.
Swaholm found himself about 20 yards out, and he hooked a shot around a Lewiston defender and nestled into the goal just inside the right post and out of the reach of keeper Chris Jacques (nine saves).
Alex Dolan made seven saves for Mt. Ararat.
Traip 2, Poland 0
KITTERY – Senior forward Jack Masury scored a pair of goals to lift Traip to a 2-0 victory over Poland in WMC boys’ soccer action Friday.
Masury scored one goal in each half for the Rangers (1-0).
Defensive fullback Brennan Connor was solid for Traip, while midfielder Mackenzie Cook had a strong outing for the Knights (0-1).
Goalie Mike Littlefield fended off 15 shots on goal for Poland, while Jay Cuttle turned back four for Traip in the winning effort.
Mt. Abram 6, Monmouth 0
MONMOUTH – Senior striker Phelan Berry mustered a pair of goals to lead Mt. Abram to a 6-0 shutout over Monmouth in MVC boys’ soccer action Friday.
The Roadrunners (1-0) dominated the offense with short passes and spending much of their time in the Mustangs zone, collecting 30 shots on goal. Mita Popovic contributed a goal and two assists in the winning effort.
Goalie Sam Simpson had three saves for Mt. Abram, while Noah Musich batted away 20 shots for Monmouth.
