Potluck supper

Class to meet

RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1950 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Teena’s. All members and guests are welcome. Call Frances at 364-4643 or Margaret at 364-2098 if planning to attend.

Seniors trips

DIXFIELD – The Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Dixfield Legion. The 11 a.m. meeting will be followed by a potluck dinner. New members are welcome.

There is still room on the Fryeburg Fair trip on Tuesday, Sept. 30. There is a charge of $10 a person and pick-up points are Dixfield, Mexico and Bethel. There is also space on the Christmas trip to Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, N.H., on Dec. 8. For more information, call Connie at 364-4189.

RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1954 will meet for a class luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Bistro in the old Harris Hotel.

Democratic supper

RUMFORD – The Oxford County Democrats will hold a free supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, to celebrate the legislative career of Rep. John Patrick and to highlight the traditional Acadian heritage of many residents of the River Valley.

The event will be held at the Eagles Hall, Oxford Avenue, and Congressman Mike Michaud is expected to attend along with other legislative leaders and local Democratic candidates.

Donations will be accepted to benefit the Oxford County Democrats and the John Patrick for County Commissioner campaign. The hall will open at 5 p.m.

The menu will consist of chaird and poutines, created from pork and potatoes. Bob and Carol Parise will lead the team of cooks assisted by Bill and Linda Petrie, Patrick, Sen. Bruce Bryant and volunteers. Local Democrats will provide desserts.
