LEWISTON – The Maine Table Tennis League will officially begin its 13th season of organized table tennis at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15th at Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. Entrance is at the rear of the building, near the baseball field.

Anyone who wants to participate in the sport for competition, exercise and for fun and wholesome enjoyment is invited to play. The dues are $40 for adults and $30 for children 12-and-under and are due at time of registration.

The season runs from September to May, and practice times are available throughout the year. Everyone is invited to join regardless of playing ability. There are various levels of league competition.

League play takes place every Monday evening. Practice times are Tuesday thru Thursday evenings. The Maine Table Tennis League is the only league or club of its kind in the state. It is sanctioned by the USATT (United States of America Table Tennis) to host tournaments. One of the league members is the only certified USATT referee in Maine. The League now boasts 12 professional tables, and balls are supplied.

The only request is that players bring a pair of non-marking sneakers to change into. This will alleviate damage to the non-slippery painted floor and avoid tracking in grime or dirt or small pebbles.

For those needing paddles or supplies, the League has them available at discounted prices.
