LISBON – Cornerstone, a 10-member, multi-denominational band, will celebrate its fifth anniversary at a free coffeehouse at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on the hill off Route 196.
Fifteen-year-old Shawn McKeone, a Lewiston High School junior and member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, will make his debut.
Cornerstone’s music is geared for family audiences. The musicians perform a cross section that includes Christian rock and contemplative music.
“Every generation sings God’s praises in its own voice. These young people have an energy that refreshes the soul and brings you to your feet,” said the Rev. Beau Wagner, rector of St. Matthew’s.
Church members will provide coffee and desserts.
St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, founded in 1906, is a growing congregation that brings together the four main threads of Anglican tradition: Anglo Catholic worship, evangelical preaching, charismatic expression and caring in action.
