Busting stress

LEWISTON – “Managing Stress” will be the topic of a presentation set for the Thursday, Sept. 18, meeting of the Central and Western Maine ICD Support Group.

Marcy Covey, CMMC wellness instructor, will discuss techniques for “busting” life’s stressors by acquiring new habits and perspectives.

The ICD support group is for individuals who have an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). Family members and other support persons are also welcome.

The meeting will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute first-floor conference room.

Boosters’ meal

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon High School Athletic Boosters are sponsoring a fried chicken dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the Lisbon High School cafeteria.

The menu will be two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, dessert and a drink, $6. Tickets are best purchased in advance; there will be limited sales at the door. Tickets are at the school office, at the snack shacks during games, or from a booster member. Make checks payable to the Lisbon High School Athletic Boosters.

Stretching benefits

LEWISTON – Carrie Harlow, health promotion coordinator at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, will discuss the benefits of stretching at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Auburn Mall Center Court.
