I hope the Sun Journal will continue to follow the saga that is Androscoggin County Government.

I may not always agree with your editorials, but your piece on Helen Poulin was on the mark and she should resign from her post, now that she is no longer a resident of the district she was elected to represent.

Is it likely to happen? Hardly! One only must look at the recent shenanigans of county government with the budget issues and hiring of a deputy. County government should go the way of the dodo bird.

I was also surprised during all the press coverage of attempts to hire a deputy, to find that Ms. Poulin’s spouse works for the county in some capacity. This would seem to be a conflict of interest.

With the governor focusing on school consolidation, and the state management of county jails, perhaps he could turn the magnifying glass on the entire workings of county government.
