Except on the very rare occasions that Sen. Susan Collins has been allowed to vote for issues important to Maine citizens to create the illusion that she really has Maine residents’ interests at heart, she voted overwhelmingly for the Bush administration agenda that benefits the few over the many.

For those few Maine citizens who have actually benefitted from her abysmal voting record, continued support probably makes sense.

For the rest of us, who find that our state and country are in the worst condition in our lifetimes, Collins bears as much responsibility as the Bush administration, for which she has worked so tirelessly.

It is time to start holding those who created the current mess responsible for their actions.

Sen. Collins no longer deserves the support of Maine people, who put their trust in her to do the right thing.
