I’m sorry to see that the “Straight Talk Express” has taken a dangerous detour.

I’ve always respected John McCain for his independent thinking, including his support for the troop surge in Iraq. Barack Obama also is a man of principal and integrity who invited us to move away from the politics of mud. That is the promise both candidates gave us at the beginning of this campaign.

It now looks like McCain has been taken prisoner of war again, this time by his own advisers.

We tell other countries how to hold fair elections; why can’t we do it here at home?
